FRAMING

The Framing Shop:
I have a reverence for old woods.  They have charactor, flaws and unique qualities that you can't make or buy.  And if you take the time to find them, they can have a second life surrounding and becoming  part of a work of art.
Living in the countryside of North Carolina I have the opportunity of finding out about old tobacco barns, sheds and Millhouses that need to be taken down for one reason or another.  I  salvage some of the lumber and store it in my shop and my neighbors' shed to dry.   When it stabilizes I recycle the wood by creating frames for my paintings.  Occasionally a frame will be made of the same wood from a building that appears in the painting itself!  To me...  that's worth the journey.
